	On a day like today...

Seaseme Street's Greatest Hits

During the 14 hour drive to Portland, Oregon over Thanksgiving, it was my pleasure to experience the musical delight that is "Seaseme Street's Greatest Hits". Three times.
One of my favroite songs on the compilation was Cookie Monster's rendition of "C is for cookie, and that's good enough for me" He had such a sweet tone, the virtuoso scales were nothing for his experienced voice. I could feel his musicianship as he expertly jumped around C major.
Another delight was Kermit the Frog's original "It's Not Easy Being Green". While not technically a Seaseme Street Charecter, his soulfull music transends any muppet barriers. His music is revolutionary - it showed the world that muppets too can feel lonely.
However, not all the muppets who sang for the CD were expressive musicians like Cookie Monster or Kermit The Frog. Elmo added his demented version of the alphabet, "Elmo sings the Alphabet" and his other abomination, "Elmo Sings About Colors". There was no depth to the music, and they were enjoyable only to my 13-month-old niece.
All in all, don't listen to this CD, unless your niece is screaming her head off and this is the only thing that will get her to shut up.
